Improving Sales Processes for Better Customer Experiences: Meet Tyler Ebnet

July 12, 2019 | CEC News

When Tyler Ebnet joined CEC’s team earlier this year, we knew good things would soon follow.

For starters, Tyler brings with him more than 15 years of sales, process improvement, technology, and team development experience. His expertise is already helping CEC better support its customers, sales teams, and technology suites.

Better yet, he excels at creating streamlined processes that ultimately improve customer experiences and help our talented sales experts find answers to challenging productivity, safety, and communications questions. As the vice president of sales and marketing, Tyler ensures that you get the innovative, profitable solutions you need.

As he transforms many of our sales initiatives and practices – and we hope you’ll notice the difference it makes! – we wanted to help our customers get to know him a little better. Meet Tyler Ebnet!

Q: What makes you most excited about working at CEC?
A: I’m excited by the energy that the people at CEC have about delivering great customer experiences. When we focus our energy on being more efficient and improving internal processes, we can deliver on our mission of making technology simple for customers, regardless of their size or core business.

Q: Which three words would you use to describe your experiences at CEC so far?
A: 1) Challenging, 2) engaging, and 3) teamwork

Q: Which CEC initiative can you not wait to tackle?
A: Our customers are starting to acquire technology solutions differently than they have in the past. I’m really excited to create as-a-service models for our technology solution sets, including AV, fire and security, IT, healthcare communications, and two-way communications.

As-a-service solutions will:

  • Give you more flexibility in the types of solutions you use
  • Reduce the hassles of maintenance and system management for end-users
  • Provide you with a better end-user experience
  • Allow you to acquire products and services without large upfront capital expenditures

Q: So far, what's a typical day like for you?
A: I don’t think there has been a typical day yet! I spend a lot of time understanding how the sales teams utilize their resources and the processes they follow. I am also working with customers and general managers to better understand the types of products and solutions that CEC could provide to help our customers better meet their business objectives, reduce costs, and improve efficiency, safety, communications, and productivity.

Q: What’s a fun/interesting fact about you that most people don’t know?
A: I’m really good at sewing! My grandma taught me at a young age and, throughout my life, I’ve made several articles of clothing for myself.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: I spend time riding horses, which has been a hobby of mine since I was young. I also enjoy riding bike trails around Iowa, and my wife and I like to do construction projects.
