It's True! BTC is Back ... and Better than Ever

By CEC Staff

In case you haven’t heard … 2021 is CEC’s year to celebrate!

Seventy-five years ago, our company was founded by Paul Parmer right here in Iowa. He saw an opportunity to support the growing need for communication via radio transmission. It was a relatively new technology that changed how people interact.

More than seven decades later, that’s still what CEC does best: Keeping an eye on emerging technology and exploring ways to improve communication, collaboration, and security for local and national customers.

We’re commemorating this remarkable achievement with many exciting announcements! One of the biggest: The return of CEC’s beloved Business Technology Conference! Although we took a short hiatus in 2019 and 2020, this year will mark our 13th year of bringing technology decision-makers together. We’ll connect Iowa and Wisconsin business leaders to new and relevant technologies, hands-on demonstrations, and innovative ideas to improve communication, collaboration, and safety.

With a historic and timely focus – 75 Years of Technology & Innovation: Past, Present, and Future – the conference will be an opportunity for businesses, hospitals, schools, manufacturers, financial institutions, and government agencies to assess their technology foundations, learn about trends, and solidify their technology visions and roadmaps.

Big updates are coming soon about what the day will entail—and who you can expect to meet and learn from. But, for now, we’ve got a few sneak peeks for you.

The 2021 Business Technology Conference will focus on three crucial topics:

  1. Up-and-coming technology: From artificial intelligence to distributed antenna systems and CBRS, we’ll be talking about emerging trends in real-world ways so you understand exactly how these technologies will impact you.
  2. Technology planning: We’ll show you effective ways to budget for and finance technology. We’ll also offer insight into the systems you’ll likely need to upgrade in the next few years—as well as how you can budget for those upgrades.
  3. New ways of working (NWOW): The future of work looks completely different than it did even just 12 months ago. We’ll talk about the technology that stands ready to support NWOW, digital work experiences, virtual classrooms, hybrid workspaces, and smart/healthy buildings.

As always, many of our trusted technology partners—leaders in AV, fire and security, healthcare communications, IT, and two-way communications—will be onsite to update you on the innovations and trends they see up ahead.

We’re also bringing something brand new to the Business Technology Conference this time around: industry roundtable conversations. You’ll have the opportunity to network with other technology leaders in small, focused groups to learn about the challenges they face—and what they’re doing about it.

We look forward to hosting the 2021 Business Technology Conference as we honor the past, talk about the challenges of the present, and plan for what’s to come. The valuable information being unveiled this year won’t be found anywhere else in the Midwest. You’ll be able to learn what you use to stay one step ahead of the rapidly changing technology landscape.
