Background
Henry County Health Center is a 25-bed critical access hospital with an attached, 49-bed long-term care facility (Park Place). With its technological innovation and associates who are compassionate and committed, Henry County Health Center strives for excellence in all it does. The organization believes in providing high-quality, effective care for patients, along with making the hospital a satisfying workplace.
Customer Needs
In January 2009, Henry County Health Center took bids to construct a new data center. Part of that project required extensive data cabling and extension of existing and new fiber runs. CEC was brought to the table by the winning general contractor. Henry County Health Center’s data center was too small and inadequate for meeting future needs of the healthcare organization. It typically handles projects locally, but for something of this magnitude, they were looking for outside help.
Solution
CEC worked closely with Henry County Health Center to make sure its data center would hold up to future growth.
As part of its new data center, Henry County Health Center received:
- Structured cabling with fiber extensions and additions that didn’t have a single failure out of approximately 500.
- A network that now runs flawlessly to support information and data transfer and storage.
- A staff of knowledgeable technicians onsite who were qualified to do twisted pair and fiber work with attention to detail and quality.
- A project that, as a whole, paid off substantially for the organization, and was a critical element of the data center.
It was a little scary to think about the cabling that needed to change in our data center. CEC was not only highly referred by the engineers on this project, but they were also the winning bidder. I couldn’t be more pleased with the final outcome. Not only was the quality of work great, but the people on the job were as well.
