Our People

CEC has evolved from a small local radio shop to a nationally recognized systems integrator because of our people. Our passion for technology and taking care of customers are what makes us successful, allowing us to deliver customized and, at times, unique solutions to the businesses we support.

Executive Leadership

  • Kim joined CEC in October 2019 as CEO after serving as a long-time board member. With a strong background in next-generation technology and talent development, she drives CEC’s purpose in the changing technology marketplace. By connecting our company’s product portfolio with our customers’ emerging business needs, she ensures that CEC continues to deliver depth and expertise in communication, collaboration, and security to everyone we serve.

  • Since joining CEC in 1982, Randy has held positions in field operations, service, sales, management, and engineering. He currently serves as CEC’s vice president of technology. This role allows him to apply his passion for technology as he helps our employees solve complex business issues for customers. Randy is a member of ASIS International, has served on several technology advisory committees, and has degrees in engineering technology and management development.

  • Mat joined CEC in August 2019 as the vice president of finance to strategically lead CEC’s financial management. He has a strong background in continuous improvement, Lean principles, financial reporting and analysis, and process development. This adds tremendous value to CEC’s forecasting and budget management. As the vice president of finance, Mat ensures that the company's work aligns with its financial future and strategic initiatives.

  • When Jim Anderson joined CEC in 2015 as the company’s IT general manager, he brought with him more than 20 years of professional IT experience. Prior, he served as the director of network and information services for a private college that partnered with CEC on several successful technology initiatives. In this role, he worked hands-on with VoIP, server, storage, network, desktop, and development projects. During his time at CEC he helped customers in all markets with their IT and AV initiatives, and oversaw CEC’s internal IT projects. Today, as CEC’s Platform Integration Evangelist, he helps with product development on the software side to identify opportunities to create software integrations that improve workflow for the customers we work with. When he’s not busy solving tech problems, you can find him fishing, skiing, golfing, or visiting a national park with his wife and three children.

  • Starting his low voltage career in the United States Navy as an Electricians Mate, Brian used his GI Bill after his military service to pursue further education in Telecommunications.  Joining CEC in 2005 as a technician, he worked his way to leadership in 2012.  The valuable technical and client-centric experiences he gained during his time in the field eventually led him to vice president of operations.  Brian is now responsible for the project management, coordination, and execution of business operations as they relate to project execution and installation.

  • Ryan Staner has been with CEC since 2001, starting out as a systems technician while earning an associate degree in electronics engineering. He has also served as a project manager, system specialist, project engineer, and, most recently, general manager of fire and security before being named the assistant vice president of fire and security technology in 2022. He provides high-level direction and oversight for CEC’s expert team of fire and security professionals, ensuring that they have the knowledge and support they need to effectively resolve challenges for clients.
