WISCONSIN (Friday, April 3, 2026) – Communications Engineering Company (CEC), a trusted systems integrator for critical environments with offices across the Midwest and Southeast, announced the acquisition of Northern Musicast, Inc. (NMI), a nurse call systems installation and contracting company based in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Since 1978, NMI has provided intelligent, responsive nurse call solutions across Northern Wisconsin and Michigan, offering timely, on-site clinical design, implementation, and application services and support. CEC, which evolved from a small local radio shop in 1946 into a nationally recognized systems integrator, expanded its operations into Wisconsin and the greater Midwest in the early 2000s.

The acquisition of NMI is set to strengthen CEC’s healthcare footprint, particularly in Northern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, while significantly elevating the company’s Rauland Nurse Call capabilities in hospitals, clinics, and elder-care homes. The combined team’s experience will benefit all CEC and NMI clients, ensuring they receive continuous exceptional support.
